MY FAVORITE VENDORS

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned as a wedding professional who has witnessed over 100 weddings in the last five years is this: your vendors matter. Whether you are having an intimate backyard wedding for 30 people, or a multi-day bash for 400 people, the people you choose to help create the day do just that, they create the day. Of course not entirely, but you do spend a lot of time leading up to your wedding, and a lot of time on the day of your wedding with the people you hire for flowers, coordination, music, etc. When picking a vendor, here are a few tips that can help:

  1. Pick people who you feel have a body of work that aligns with your hopes for the day.

2. Meet with them before signing a contract or putting down a deposit! Make sure that they are someone you want to be at one of the biggest days of your life. Will they help you feel supported? Calm? Are they professional? Do you vibe with them? Do their values align with yours?

3. Follow your gut. If after meeting with someone you feel a bit iffy, let the vendor know you’re going another route and then do just that. Don’t settle for someone that feels off.

4. If you have already hired a vendor you love and trust (coordinator, photographer, venue), ask them for recommendations! They know first hand what a wedding day with a number of vendors is like, and can give you an helpful perspective!

Kentucky has so many awesome vendors out there that it can be a bit overwhelming to even know where to begin. I’ve rounded up just a few favorites that I have previously worked with and recommend 100%! Check them out below, and for a more extensive list, one of my favorite resources is the Kentucky Inclusive Wedding Directory.
